Andrea Y. (Mifflin) (Brannon) Myers, 72, passed away Nov. 24, 2018, from complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and congestive heart failure at Morton General Hospital, with her family by her side. She was born in Colville, Wash., Sept. 2, 1946, to Kenneth and Felice Mifflin. Soon after, the family moved to Seattle where she grew up.

Having been born on Labor Day, she started her working career at the age of three as a window model in downtown Seattle, and worked nearly continuously until retiring in 2012 after 11 years driving transit bus in Ketchikan, Alaska. She had many other jobs, starting with a paper route at age five that she had for 10 years, and waitressing at many places including Kit Carson’s in Chehalis, and building screen doors at Metal Industries in Winlock.

In 1996, after raising her two sons, she met Jim Myers while working at MI. It wasn’t long before she became a second mother to his six children. After the younger kids went to live with their mother, she and Jim decided to find work in Alaska. Soon after, they were both working for Princess Tours in Ketchikan. Andrea trained to drive bus and was so good at it, they made her a driver trainer. When an opening came up, she went to work for the KGB (Ketchikan Gateway Borough) where she retired as lead driver. She never met a stranger, and could remember everyone’s name after only meeting them once.

Andrea enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping and playing cards with friends. She was a huge fan of the Mariners and Seahawks. Andrea will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Brannon; stepson, Paul R. (Rusty) Myers; and her parents.

Andrea is survived by her husband of 19 years, Jim at the family home in Mossyrock; a brother, Kenneth and Dorwayne Mifflin in Idaho; son, Ryan and Christy Brannon of Doty; stepchildren, Paul and Abby Myers of Skagway, Alaska, Kelli Myers and Laura and Shawn Jones of Red Bluff, Calif., Drew and LisaMarie of Citrus Heights, Calif., and Matt Myers of Utah.; and 16 grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be a potluck dinner at the Mossyrock Grange Hall, Dec. 15, 2018, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Bring your favorite dish and your favorite Andrea story.

Her ashes will be spread next summer at her favorite fishing hole in Alaska. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mossyrock Grange Scholarship Fund. Arrangements are under the care of Cattermole Funeral Home, Winlock.
