Alan Eugene Brown

Alan Eugene Brown passed away of metastatic pancreatic cancer Oct. 17, 2019, in Tenino, Wash., his home of 45 years. He was born Aug. 17, 1959, to Harold and Jeanette Pauley in La Jolla, Calif., and raised by his mother, Jeanette, and stepfather, Richard Brown. Over the years, Alan also lived in Prescott, Ariz., (for 10 years) and San Bernardino, Calif.

A 1978 graduate of Tenino High School, Alan served in the United States Navy from 1978 to 1981, stationed in Hawaii. He did farm work in the 1980s. Alan was a member of the Violet Prairie Grange and First Presbyterian Church of Tenino.

He had chronic health problems from diabetes for much of his adult life, but never really complained, just kept on. Alan was always quick with a timely pun. He loved to go out for Mexican food, was a dedicated kite flyer with his mother and was a science fiction movie lover.  Alan also loved small animals such as dogs, cats and other house pets. In addition, he was skilled at small electric motor repair (military occupation).
