Write-In Candidate Narrowly Leads Challenger in Toledo City Council Race

Incumbent Jim Fluckinger, who filed as a write-in candidate to retain his seat on the Toledo City Council’s position 1, is leading his challenger by one vote.

Fluckinger received 82 of the 167 votes counted by Wednesday afternoon.

Opponent Eric Duerst was just one vote behind with 81 votes.

There are an estimated 1,300 ballots left to be counted throughout Lewis County, and it’s unclear how many are from Toledo. The election won’t be certified until Nov. 28.

The next vote count is scheduled to be released at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
