A Tacoma woman was arrested this week for allegedly stealing children’s clothes in Centralia, then pushing a store employee who tried to stop her.
Ittalyah J. Jackson, 22, made her first court appearance Thursday in Lewis County Superior Court, where she was charged with second-degree robbery.
Superior Court Judge Andrew Toynbee ordered her held on $10,000 bail, citing her criminal history, including three active warrants on theft cases out of Lewis County.
According to court documents, police were dispatched Wednesday to a report of a theft at the Carter’s children’s clothing store on Lum Road.
The reporting party, an employee at the store, reported two women took a bag full of clothing. On their way out, one of the women, identified as Jackson, pushed an employee and threatened to beat her up.
Witnesses reported the make, model and license plate number of the vehicle the suspects left in, according to court documents.
Police stopped the vehicle in the area, and the occupants were identified as the suspects in the theft.
The women also had other merchandise from the store. Jackson reportedly told police she bought the items with cash, but could not produce receipts.
Both Jackson and a second woman, Dasia S. McDaniel, 20, also of Tacoma, were arrested on suspicion of robbery. Prosecutors declined to charge McDaniel in Superior Court Thursday.
Jackson’s next court hearing is scheduled for Aug. 24.
