After placing fifth in the regional tournament and second in the 2A division competition, the W.F. West Knowledge Bowl team will advance to the state Knowledge Bowl tournament, according to the school district.
The state competition will be on March 19 at Arlington High School in Arlington.
The team consists of Captain Mary Lalone, Rory Slattery, Alex Schwiesow, Matthew Zylstra, Isabel Vander Stoep and Tessa Wollan.
Knowledge Bowl is an academic competition where each team has the opportunity to answer 250 questions in a variety of categories.
With 15 seconds to respond, the team hits a buzzer if they have the answer. A point is rewarded for a correct answer.
