A Spanaway driver was cited after allegedly causing a rear-end accident that injured two people Friday morning on state Route 7.

The crash was reported at 8:07 a.m. Friday at about milepost 12 of the highway, 11 miles north of Morton.

A gray 2017 Audi Q7 was stopped for road work when a second vehicle, a black 2000 Dodge Dakota truck, struck it from behind.

The crash was caused by speed that was too fast for the conditions and inattention, according to the State Patrol

The driver of the truck, identified by the State Patrol as Sandra L. Gidley, 39, of Spanaway, was cited on suspicion of second-degree negligent driving. She was injured and transported to Morton General Hospital.

The driver of the Audi, James M. Bieker, 41, of Eatonville, was also injured but not transported by aid to a hospital.

Drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in the crash.

Both vehicles were totaled.
