Suspected South Lewis County Drug Dealers Charged

Two south Lewis County men are facing drug charges after a traffic stop led detectives to an alleged drug deal.

Lake A. Gregson, 28, of Toledo, was charged with possession of heroin with intent to deliver and granted $25,000 bail.

Kevin J. Nida, 26, of Winlock, was charged with delivery of heroin, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and two counts of second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm. He was granted $50,000 bail. Both are scheduled to appear in court again for their arraignments next Thursday.

According to court documents, detectives with the Lewis County Joint Narcotic Enforcement Team initiated a traffic stop Thursday in the 100 block of Pine Tree Road in Winlock.

The vehicle was occupied by three people, who reported they were in the area picking up Gregson, who was recognized by detectives as a suspected heroin dealer in the south Lewis County area.

Detectives asked the occupants of the vehicle if they planned to buy heroin from Gregson and the driver said they actually planned to sell him marijuana.

Later that night, detectives contacted Gregson and found heroin in his possession, which he reported he bought from Nida.

Gregson reported he bought the heroin for his friends, already contacted by the detectives, who were planning on picking him up.

He said he planned on trading the heroin for marijuana and $80.

Detectives searched Nida’s residence and reported finding bundles of cash in small bills, 50 grams of methamphetamine, plastic bags, scales and two guns thrown out a window just before deputies forced entry into the apartment.

“Kevin (Nida) admitted to being a drug dealer and the money was drug money,” according to court documents.

Nida and Gregson, both at the apartment, were arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail.
