Sirens: Teen Booked for Prowling Cars, Caller Reports Man Hanging Around Playground for Hours, Assault Suspect Referred to Prosecutor’s Office

 CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Identity Theft Suspect Booked

• At 8:25 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 1000 block of Eckerson Road and arrested Courtney S. Smith, 35, of Centralia on suspicion of identity theft, after allegedly providing officers with a false name.

Thefts

• At 1:09 p.m. Friday, a theft of lotion was reported at a business in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue.

• At 4:28 p.m. Saturday, a theft of numerous clothing items was reported in the 100 block of West High Street.

Two Issued Infractions for Drinking in Public

• At 9:51 a.m. Saturday, police responded to Hanson Street and Railroad Avenue and issued infractions to two men on suspicion of having open containers of alcohol in public. 

Assault, Mischief Suspect Booked

• At 10:17 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 800 block of Euclid Way and arrested Doug Y. Galloway, 35, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence and third-degree malicious mischief — domestic violence. 

Suspect Summoned for Order Violation

• At 11:43 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 100 block of North Tower Avenue and issued a summons to a 41-year-old Chehalis man on suspicion of violating a no-contact order.

Trespass Suspect Booked

• At 12:31 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1300 block of Lum Road and arrested Kelly A. Holen, 34, a transient, on suspicion of criminal trespass and on multiple Centralia municipal court warrants.

Vehicle Prowl

• At 12:55 a.m. Sunday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 800 block of G Street. Someone stole a wallet.

Driver Cited for Title Violation

• At 1:34 a.m. Sunday, police responded to Centralia College Boulevard and Ash Street and arrested and released a 29-year-old Chehalis man on suspicion of failing to transfer a vehicle title within 45 days.

Teen Booked for Prowling Cars

• At 9:47 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 1000 block of Scammon Creek Road and arrested a 14-year-old boy on suspicion of a probation violation after he was spotted prowling cars in the area.

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Caller Reports Man Hanging Around Playground for Hours

• At 6:27 p.m. Friday, a caller in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street reported a man was sitting at a picnic table at the park watching kids for the past two hours.



Police Book Resisting, Obstruction Suspect

• At 9:59 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 200 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue and arrested Brian K. Cummings, 39, of Olympia on suspicion of obstruction of justice and resisting arrest. 

DUI Suspect Booked

• At 12:20 a.m. Saturday, police responded to Market Boulevard and Second Street and arrested Jamie E. Snyder, 46, of Centralia on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Assault Suspect Referred to Prosecutor’s Office

• At 4:48 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 900 block of Northwest Pennsylvania Avenue and referred a 28-year-old Chehalis woman on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence.

 Alleged Shoplifter Arrested

• At 5:45 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and arrested Taylor C. Young, 23, of Centralia on suspicion of third-degree theft and on a Centralia Municipal Court warrant.

Possible DUI Reported

• At 11:43 p.m. Saturday, a caller in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue reported a man was heard saying he was drunk, and then seen getting into a vehicle and driving around. 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 1:27 p.m. Sunday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1500 block of North National Avenue. Tools were stolen.

Theft

• At 2:49 p.m. Sunday, a shoplifting incident was reported in the 1700 block of North National Avenue. 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 238 inmates, with 205 in general population, 32 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and one on work release. Of general population inmates, 164 were men and 41 were women and of WERC inmates, 28 were men and four were women. A total of 11 inmates were booked through contracts with agencies outside Lewis County.
