Sirens: Suspect Spotted Syphoning Gas, Suspicious Brass-Knuckle-Clad Man Reported, Two Arrested After Marijuana Grow Found at Winlock Home

Counterfeit Cash

• At 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of counterfeit $100 bills found in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue. 

Trailer Stolen

• At 10:05 a.m. on Wednesday, a 10-foot by 13-foot utility trailer was reported stolen overnight in the 700 block of East 3rd Street.

Suspect Spotted Syphoning Gas

• At 10:22 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a theft of gasoline in the 300 block of South Pearl Street. A suspect was spotted syphoning gas from vehicles in a parking lot. 

Mossyrock Man Booked on Drug Charge

• At 7:33 a.m. on Thursday, police responded to the 1000 block of South Tower Avenue and arrested Adam I. McGowan, 26, of Mossyrock, on suspicion of an outstanding warrant and possession of methamphetamine. He is also being referred to prosecutors on suspicion of obstructing a public servant for allegedly giving police a false name. Breianna I. Eberly, 30, of Centralia, was also arrested on an outstanding state Department of Corrections warrant. 

Cash Reported Stolen

• At 3:40 p.m. on Thursday, $50 was reported stolen in the 2700 block of Borst Avenue. 

Rental Property Taken

• At 4:39 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a theft of rental property in the 1700 block of South Gold Street.

Suspicious Brass-Knuckle-Clad Man Reported

• At 9:40 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a suspicious man wearing brass knuckles and “staring into space” in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.  

Hit and Run



• At 3:41 p.m. on Wednesday, the Chehalis Police Department received a report of a hit and run in the 800 block of Eshom Road in Centralia.

Honda Stolen

• At 5 a.m. on Wednesday, a 1995 Honda Accord was reported stolen in the 3000 block of Ives Road in Centralia. 

Two Arrested After Marijuana Grow Found at Winlock Home

• At noon on Wednesday, deputies responded to the 2700 block of state Route 603 in Winlock after a request for a welfare check on three children. Deputies arrived and found a marijuana grow at the home. They reportedly seized 80 plants and growing equipment. Cameron J. Poole, 26, of Winlock, was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana and unlawful use of a building for growing marijuana. Jordan D. Wharton, 25, of Winlock was referred to prosecutors on the same charges. Three children at the home, ages 6 months, 18 months and 4 years, were turned over to Child Protective Services. 

Jail Inmate Found with Drug

• At 10:13 a.m. on Thursday, a deputy responded to the Lewis County Jail after receiving a report that an inmate was found with a suspected drug. Jerry L. Bostwick, who was remanded into custody in an unrelated case, was re-booked on a new charge of possession of methamphetamine. 

Winlock Man Arrested on Assault Charge

• At 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to a report of a physical altercation in the 600 block of Tennessee Road in Winlock. Russell M. Schellong, 53, of Winlock, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault, domestic violence. 

Lewis County Jail Statistics

• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 225 inmates with 189 in general population, 35 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and one on work release. Of general population inmates, 152 were male and 37 female and of WERC inmates, 31 were male and four female. A total of 33 inmates were booked through contracts with agencies outside Lewis County.
