CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Vehicle Stolen

• At 7:11 a.m. Wednesday, a theft of a green 1996 Honda Civic was reported in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road.

 

Suspect Arrested for Heroin Possession

• At 10:12 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 1800 block of Cooks Hill Road and arrested Ashley N. Looper, 30, of Rochester, on suspicion of possession of heroin.

 

Suspect Referred for Passing Fraudulent $100 Bill

• At 1:28 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 1400 block of South Tower Avenue and referred to the prosecutor’s office a 62-year-old Chehalis man on suspicion of forgery.

Suspect Nabs Merchandise, Dashes

• At 1:56 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a business in the 200 block of South Pearl Street where a woman stole store merchandise and fled.

 

Police Investigate Sexual Abuse Cases

• At 2:38 p.m. Wednesday, police were dispatched to the 100 block of West Maple Street in response to reported sexual abuse.

• At 3:19 p.m. Wednesday, police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Eshom Road in response to reported sexual abuse.

 

Shed Broken Into, Briefcase Stolen

• At 4:13 p.m. Wednesday, a burglary was reported in the 700 block of North Tower Avenue. Someone broke into a shed and stole a briefcase.

 

Driver Arrested, Released for Vehicle Title Violation

• At 7:24 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Galvin Road and arrested and released Feodosiy Rud, 49, of Centralia on suspicion of failure to transfer title within 45 days, and an infraction for causing a collision.

 

Suspect Arrested for Meth Possession

• At 8:52 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the 100 block of East Locust Street and arrested Caleb L. Whearty, 30, of Centralia on suspicion of possession of meth and on a Department of Corrections warrant.

 Extortion Suspect Booked

• At 10:38 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the 400 block of West Cherry Street and arrested Dakota S. Plaas, 25, of Rochester on suspicion of second-degree extortion.

 

Shop Door Kicked Open, Equipment Stolen

• At 11:30 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1400 block of South Tower Avenue and where a shop door had been kicked open and a plasma cutter stolen.

 

Assaults

• At noon on Thursday, police responded to the 600 block of Centralia College Boulevard and arrested Tsz Nok Ho, 20, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence.

• At 1:08 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 500 block of South Rock Street and arrested Frederick J. Adams, 57, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Female Subject Spotted in Citizen’s Yard, Eating Grass

• At 10:39 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 10 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue where the caller had seen a woman in their yard, eating grass.

 

Thefts

• At 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, a theft of two vacuums was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

• At 12:02 p.m. Thursday, a theft of several pairs of boots was reported in the 600 block of Northwest Prindle Street.

 

Vehicle Prowls

• At 12:22 a.m. Thursday, a caller in the 700 block of Southeast Adams Avenue reported that they saw someone trying to break into their car.

• At 1:50 a.m. Thursday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1300 block of Northwest River Street.

 

Two Suspects Try, Fail to Push Away Car Trailer

• At 1:17 p.m. Thursday, a caller in the 400 block of Southwest 18th Street to push away their car trailer, before giving up because it was too heavy and walking away.

 

Burglary Suspect Booked

• At 4 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and arrested Stanley J. Hartman, 55, of Chehalis on suspicion of second-degree burglary.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS  

• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 217 inmates, with 182 in general population, 33 in the work ethic and restitution center and two on work release. Of general population inmates, 154 were male and 28 were female and of WERC inmates, 28 were male and five were female. A total of 33 inmates were booked through contracts outside Lewis County.
