Elderly Woman Struck by Truck

• An 84-year-old woman was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital for non-life threatening injuries after she was clipped by a Toyota pickup truck just after 5 a.m. today. According to Lewis County Fire District 6, the woman lives in the 500 or 600 block of Logan Hill Road in Chehalis where she was hit while walking down the road. The driver of the pickup remained at the scene. It was unknown at press time who was at fault for the incident.

 

Centralia Police Department

Meth Possession

• Police arrested Natasha A. Grubb, 24, of Chehalis, in the 1000 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia at 9:49 p.m. Wednesday for possession of methamphetamine. She was booked into the Lewis County Jail.

Drug DUI

• Kevin D. Scott, 36, of Chehalis, was arrested in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia at 12:31 a.m. Thursday for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. He was booked into the Lewis County Jail.

Rock Breaks Business Window; Nothing Stolen

• Police responded at 8:11 a.m. Tuesday to a report of a rock through the front window of a business in the 200 block of West Center Street in Centralia. The suspect did not make entry and nothing appears to be missing.

Car Theft

• At 8:28 a.m. Tuesday a maroon 1990 Honda Accord was reported stolen during the night in the 700 block of Yew Street in Centralia.

Stolen Vehicle Tabs

• Police arrested Michael J. Welsh, 23, of Chehalis for driving while license suspended third-degree possession of stolen property after officers discovered his vehicle tabs were stolen. He was arrested at Cedar Street and Plum Street in Centralia at 6:22 p.m. Tuesday. 

Stay Out

• A man reportedly entered an employees only room and took items from a business in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue in Centralia at 6:57 p.m. Tuesday.

Vehicle Prowl

• Police responded to a report of a vehicle prowl in the 1400 block of Belmont Avenue in Centralia at 8:42 p.m. Tuesday. Clothing and tools were reported stolen.

Tablet, Coins Stolen From Doty Home

• Deputies responded to a report of a residential burglary in the 100 block of Doty Street in Doty. The 48-year-old victim, a Doty man, estimated the burglary occurred between 7 a.m. Tuesday and 5 p.m. Wednesday. A tablet and U.S. coins totaling a $170 value were reported stolen.

Car Abandoned After Wreck on Reynolds Avenue

• Deputies tried unsuccessfully to locate the driver of an abandoned 1996 Honda Accord. The vehicle was located at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of Reynolds Avenue in Centralia after the driver drove into the ditch. The Honda was towed from the scene.

Copper Wire Stolen at Chehalis Business

• A report of a second-degree burglary to Sound Wood Products in the 100 block of Ribelin Road in Chehalis is under investigation. The 50-year-old victim advised deputies that between Dec. 5 and Dec. 9 someone kicked in the gate to his fenced business and stole 400 feet of copper wire valued at $4,000. Surrounding businesses are being checked for surveillance footage. The sheriff’s office requests that anyone with information call its office or Crime Stoppers.
