Centralia Police Department

Assaults Result in Arrests

• At 8:14 a.m. on Friday, police arrested and booked Geary L. Lockard, 66, of Centralia, in the 500 block of Girard Street for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

• At 6:11 p.m. on Friday, police arrested and booked Mario S. Vasquez, 48, of Centralia, for assaulting his girlfriend in the 1100 block of Scammon Creek Road. 

Fraudulent Check

• At 9:18 a.m. on Friday, police received a report of a fraudulent check that was passed at a local business in the 1300 block of South Gold Street. The investigation is pending.

Inappropriate Communication with a Minor

• At 1:37 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a teen in the 1000 block of Scammon Creek Road who received lewd messages and a nude photo from a male. The investigation continues.  

Accidents

• At 2:53 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a motorcycle accident at Mellen and Ellsbury streets. When officers and aid arrived, the motorcycle was gone. The investigation is ongoing.

• At 12:17 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a two vehicle, non-injury collision at the intersection of Mellen and Ellsbury streets.

• At 12:17 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a two vehicle, non-injury collision at Interstate 5 and Harrison Avenue. Tyler W. Myers, 25, of Centralia, was cited and released for driving while license suspended, second degree. 

Money Stolen

• At 3:40 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of $230 stolen from a person in the 600 block of North Tower Avenue who set it down on the ground while they were nearby.

• At 4:56 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of $120 stolen from a purse in the 600 block of Jefferson Street. 

Backpack, ATV, Rototiller, Generator Stolen

• At 4:31 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a backpack that was stolen from a residence in the 1000 block of G Street that contained decorative items, jewelry and medications. Also stolen from the front yard was a Polaris ATV, Mantis rototiller and a Briggs and Stratton generator. 

Hit and Run Reported

• At 6:08 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a hit and run that occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. in the 600 block of West First Street. The suspected vehicle was a red Dodge Durango. 

Woman Assaulted, Medications Stolen

• At 10:43 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a woman who was assaulted in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue. Her medications were stolen.

Vehicle Stolen

• At 9:01 a.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a green 1996 Honda Accord passenger car that was reported stolen in the 500 block of South Oak Street. The Washington license plate number is 858YFB.

 

Tires Slashed

• At 10:22 a.m. on Saturday, police received a report of two vehicle tires that were slashed by an unknown suspect overnight in the 500 block of North Oak Street.

Theft From Hardware Store

• At 5:25 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report that numerous items valued around $1,000 or more were stolen from a local hardware store in the 1600 block of Harrison Avenue. The investigation is ongoing.  

Firework Violations

• At 11 p.m. on Saturday, police received numerous complaints of fireworks being set off after authorized hours throughout Centralia. 

Van Vandalized

• At 8:44 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a car that was vandalized in the 800 block of West Pear Street. The vehicle was scratched. There is no suspect information at this time.

Burglary Ends in Arrest

• At 9:24 a.m. on Sunday, police arrested and booked David T. Alexander, 27, of Centralia, after he was located inside a fenced area of a fruit stand in the 100 block of Harrison Avenue. Alexander allegedly was trying to steal fruits and vegetables from the closed business. 

 

Vehicle Prowls Reported

• At 3:46 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of various tools, paints and solvents stolen from a toolbox in the bed of a pickup truck in the 200 block of North Railroad Avenue. The theft occurred between June 27 and 30. 

• At 8:25 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report of two small wallets and some cash that were stolen from a vehicle parked outside an apartment complex in the 1800 block of North Pearl Street. There is no information on the suspect at this time.

• At 4:36 p.m. on Sunday, cash was reported stolen from a vehicle near the Northwest Sports Hub in the 700 block of Pioneer Way. The owner returned to his vehicle and found a window broken out. There are no suspects at this time. 

• At 3:12 a.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a purse that was taken from a truck in the 800 block of Marion Street after the truck window was smashed. The purse was found a short distance away and returned to its owner. No items were reported stolen. 

• At 7 a.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a Pioneer stereo that was stolen from a vehicle in the 500 block of North Rock Street after the window was broken.

• At 11:48 a.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a black Dickie’s jacket, medication, handicap placard and vehicle documents that were stolen from a vehicle in the 500 block of West Center Street.

• At 12:46 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of $1,300 worth of hairdressing equipment that was stolen from a vehicle in the 1300 block of Logan Street.

Arrests

• At 1:34 p.m. on Sunday, police arrested and released Jason Lee Johnston, 47, of Centralia for an alleged protection order violation.

• At 11:04 p.m. on Friday, police arrested and booked Josafat Acuna-Rios, 40, of Chehalis for possession of meth. Acuna-Rios arrived to the hospital with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was reportedly found to be in possession of a large amount of cash and meth. 

Rent Checks Stolen

• At 2:10 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of numerous rent checks that were reportedly stolen from a drop box at an apartment complex located in the 2400 block of Borst Avenue. The investigation is ongoing.

 

Chehalis Police Department

Food Stolen in Burglary

• At 8:26 a.m. on Friday, police received a report of a burglary that happened overnight to a business in the 2300 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue. Food was taken after entry was forced through a window.  

Malicious Mischief

• At 11:29 a.m. on Friday, police received a report of harassment in the 300 block of Southwest 14th Street. The caller said Facebook pictures were being posted without her permission and wanted the pictures taken down. 

Vehicle Acciden

• At 12:35 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of an accident at the roundabout near Walmart. No injuries were reported.  

Dogs in Hot Cars

• At 12:56 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a dog that was left in a Silver Ford pickup in the 1600 block of Northwest Kresky Avenue. The windows were not rolled down.

• At 2:57 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a dog left in a vehicle in the 3000 block of West 3rd Street with the windows rolled down only a few inches. 

• At 4:08 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a dog locked inside a car in the 1200 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

 

Assault on Staff

• At 1:58 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of abuse by a juvenile toward a staff member in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street. 

Hit and Runs

• At 2:55 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a hit and run in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

• At 4:53 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a hit and run at the roundabout at 1950 Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

• At 7:27 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a hit and run in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. Damage was reported to the vehicle’s back bumper. 

Restraining Order Requested

• At 3:33 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of harassment in the 700 block of Northwest Ohio Street. The caller wanted a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend who allegedly had his family members driving around her house keeping an eye on her. 

Suspicious Person

• At 3:47 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a suspicious person in the 550 block of North Market Boulevard who was scaring away customers from the business. The person reporting the incident was legally blind and unable to give a description of the person.

• At 4:08 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a man outside of the caller’s house in the 500 block of Northwest St. Helens Avenue who appeared to be trying to get into the home. 

• At 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a person who was shouting threats and had a firearm in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

• At 6:28 a.m. on Monday, police received a report of a “tweeker” walking on Cascade arguing with himself. He was seen shaking the fence at the school at the intersection of 2nd Street and Cascade. 

Assault Leads to Arrest

• At 4:13 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a woman being allegedly assaulted by Ed Halston, a “wanted individual.” He was arrested and booked into jail.

Man Upset About Fireworks

• At 6:26 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of people shooting off fireworks in the 1000 block of Northwest Prindle Street. The “gun shy” retired Marine said he had a gun in the house, although he did not make any threats. 

• At 8:27 p.m. on Sunday, police received a call from a man who was upset about fireworks in the 700 block of Southwest Williams Avenue. The caller said he was about to go to a location with a gun. When asked if he was armed, the caller said “Hell Yes, I have lots of arms.”

Suicidal Threat by Text

• At 8:44 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a woman who said she had a gun and stated she didn’t have long to live. 

Thefts

• At 3:43 a.m. on Saturday, police received a report of two people breaking into a donation bin in the 1800 block of South Market Boulevard. 

• At 10:36 a.m. on Saturday, police received a report of theft in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

 

Burglary

• At 11:27 a.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a Stihl weedeater that was stolen overnight in the 400 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue. 

 

Disorderly Conduct 

• At 1:10 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of disorderly conduct in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue. The man made an order in the drive thru and began to cuss and scream at employees.

 

Concern Over Kids

• At 1:47 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a woman outside with three small children in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. The caller said the woman appeared to be under the influence of drugs and observed her nodding back and forth with her eyes closed while sitting on the sidewalk.

Harassment Reported

• At 2:05 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of threatening phone calls that the caller’s son received in the 500 block of North Market Boulevard. The caller told the son that they were going to “put a bullet in her head.” 

iPad Found

• At 4:46 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of an iPad that was found in the 220 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue. 

Baby Left in Car

• At 5:09 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a baby sitting in an unattended vehicle in the 1490 block of Louisiana Avenue. The keys and purse were also spotted in the vehicle which had its windows down. The mother came back and yelled at a teenager who was supposed to stay with the child, but got out of the car to listen to a guy playing on a guitar. 

Shoplifting Reported

• At 10:04 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a possible theft that occurred in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. A woman was seen putting clothes into her purse, while a male’s jacket was reported to look puffy. 

• At 2:36 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of two shoplifters in the 1700 block of North National Avenue. One was put into custody while the other one ran. 

• At 3:17 p.m. on Sunday, police arrested Makenzie M. Fuller for allegedly shoplifting in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

• At 6:37 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of four kids who went into Walmart several times without buying anything. The caller believed the kids were stealing since they kept changing their clothes.  

Theft Leads to Arrest

• At 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a man who stole batteries and buckets. The person was arrested and booked. 

Malicious Mischief Reported

• At 6:02 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a vehicle that took off with a gas pump in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue. 

Criminal Trespass

• At 8:59 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a man who was attempting to get into a house in the 500 block of Southeast Spring Street. 

Drug Deal Witnessed

• At 10:06 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a drug deal in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue. The caller walked over two parked vehicles and saw needles and white stuff in a bag. 

Shed Broken Into

• At 10:11 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a plastic shed that was broken into in the 400 block of Northeast Washington Avenue.  

Dispute Over Car

• At 5 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a civil dispute in the 1900 block of Southeast Magnolia Drive about a car that the caller’s godfather had sold to someone.

Kids Slap Cars

• At 12:29 a.m. on Monday, police received a report of kids jumping out into the street to slap Milky Way Truck Trailers at the intersection of Southwest Chehalis and Southwest Lewis Streets.  

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

Residential Burglary and Vehicle Theft

• At 3:30 p.m. on Friday, deputies received information from an individual who claimed to be involved in a burglary. The incident originally took place between 3 a.m. and 5 p.m. on May 4 in the 100 block of Lacey Lane in Toledo. A 2000 Mercury Milan was stolen and later recovered by the Longview Police Department. Credit cards, checks, clothing and jewelry valued at approximately $2,000 was also taken from the residence. Desireea Barnard, 21, of Longview, contacted the Sheriff’s Office on Friday to confess her involvement. She was booked into the Lewis County Jail for residential burglary, vehicle theft and theft second. Deputies attempted to speak to another individual allegedly involved in the incident. Michael A. Boyer, 34, was referred for burglary and making false statements. He is currently in custody at the Cowlitz County Jail. 

 

DUI Arrests

• At 4:10 p.m. on Saturday, deputies were dispatched to a report of a possible domestic dispute in the 100 block of Front Street East in Mineral when they observed a vehicle being driven by a male involved in the dispute. The vehicle was pulled over and deputies smelled “the overwhelming odor of intoxicants” on the driver’s breath. After conducting a standard field sobriety test, Kyle J. Davison, 25, of Morton, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for DUI.

• At 1:40 a.m. on Sunday, deputies were on patrol near Highway 12 and Burley Road in Mossyrock when they saw a vehicle approaching at 84 mph in a 55 mph zone. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, KW Aams, 63, of Auburn, appeared to be under the influence of intoxicants. A standard field sobriety test was conducted and he was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for DUI.
