Deputies from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office and troopers from the Washington State Patrol arrested 21 people Thursday as part of the 15th annual National Domestic Violence Warrant Sweep.

They attempted to serve 111 warrants in Lewis County Thursday, most of which were for domestic-violence related crimes, according to the sheriff’s office.

“This event demonstrates the strong partnerships between Lewis County law enforcement, the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office and the courts,” Sheriff Rob Snaza said in a statement. “Through this successful sweep we were able to increase public safety, while holding those accountable who break the law.”

The Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office, Lewis County District Court and a defense attorney were also involved in the warrant sweep, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
