Selection Committee Seeks Community Input for Centralia College’s Distinguished Alumnus Award

A selection committee for the Centralia College Distinguished Alumnus Award is currently seeking nominations.

“The award is presented annually to an individual who attended Centralia College for at least one year and who has made significant contributions to his or her profession or society in general,” a press release from Centralia College states.

The selection committee consists of Centralia College and Centralia College Foundation representatives. Centralia College names the award recipient in the spring and recognizes him or her at the college’s graduation ceremony in June.

According to a press release from Centralia College, previous winners include James O. Lonborg, who worked in the U.S. space program in its inception; Susan Dunn, vice president of a government relations firm, who retired from 30 years of exemplary service for Washington state; Bill Brumsickle, former school administrator, teacher and four-term 20th District Washington state legislator. 



There are a total of 39 people who have received the Distinguished Alumnus Award.

The nomination should include a statement outlining why the nominee should be considered for the honor.
