Seeking Input: What Businesses Would You Like to See at Centralia Station?

The Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce and Powell Development are seeking public input on what types of stores and businesses should go in at the Centralia Station development.

An input form can be completed online at goo.gl/n5WrbX. The form and additional information is also available at the chamber's website, chamberway.com.

The Centralia Station project is a multi-million dollar shopping center to be located off of Mellen Street in south Centralia. The development will be anchored by a Fred Meyer. Aside from the 127,000-square-foot Fred Meyer, 30 to 40 additional storefronts ranging from 1,700 square feet to 17,000 square feet will be located in the center.

The project was led by the Port of Centralia, which recently sold land for Centralia Station to Powell Development. Peter Powell, CEO of the company, spoke at a Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce forum Monday in Centralia. He described Centralia Station as a joint effort between his company, the port and the city of Centralia.

He said the project would move forward as long as a federal permit for freeway access is obtained and Yew Street can be extended to reach the development.
