Rochester American Legion to Host First Responders Awards Ceremony

Local first responders and law enforcement personnel will be honored for their services during a dinner and award ceremony on Oct. 22 at Swede Hall in Rochester. 

The first-year event is being organized by American Legion Cpl. Christopher Nelson Post 49 and Auxiliary Unit 49.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. for a social gathering with a free dinner served at 5:45 p.m. The awards ceremony is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Awards will be given to locally stationed members of firefighting units, emergency medical technicians, 911 dispatch operators, Washington State Patrol troopers and Thurston County Sheriff’s Office deputies. 



The event is open to the public. Tickets are free but only a limited number are available. Due to limited seating, all in attendance will be required to have a ticket. Those tickets can be picked up at local businesses including Mills Diner, Dream Weavers Realty, Highway 12 Espresso and Larry’s Chevron.
