Road Closure for new Chamber Way Bridge work pushed back to Wednesday

Posted

The closure of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way between the Interstate 5 ramps in Chehalis will now take place from Wednesday night through Saturday morning due to to unexpected delays in the paving and road grading work prior to the closure.

Contractor crews working on the Washington State Department of Transportation project will use the 60-hour period to complete all of the grading and paving needed to connect the new Chamber Way overpass to the existing roadway, work that would otherwise take approximately three weeks.

Signs pointing drivers on I-5 and in Chehalis to detours around the closure will be posted prior to the closure. Pedestrians will be able to walk over I-5 on the sidewalk portion of the new bridge.

The northbound I-5 off-ramp to NW Chamber of Commerce Way will be closed from 10 p.m. Wednesday through 5 a.m. Thursday, and again for the same stretch on Friday night and Saturday morning.

Weather conditions and other factors could lead to further delays. Visit www.wsdot.wa.gov for updated information.
