Posted

The state Committee on Geographic Names will hold a public meeting to consider proposed name changes to several geographic features, including a creek in Thurston County.

The committee is considering naming it Libby Creek after the pioneer family that settled near it.

The creek flows from the town of Boston Harbor into Chapman Bay. It is 1.4 miles long and currently does not have a name.

The meeting will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31. It will be located at the Natural Resources Building in Room 172. The building is located at 1111 Washington St. SE in Olympia.

Other proposals include name changes to creeks in Kittitas County, Okanogan County and Snohomish County.
