Port of Centralia Tenant ZEV Technologies to Consolidate Space On Port Property

The Port of Centralia Commission approved plans that will help tenant ZEV Technologies consolidate operations at its regular meeting Wednesday afternoon. The firearm manufacturer is working toward only leasing one larger building from the port instead of two.

“This does nothing to change their employment base,” said Port of Centralia Executive Director Kyle Heaton. “It’s fairly revenue neutral from the port’s standpoint, so it’s all just helping them to consolidate.”

ZEV Technologies is a firearm manufacturer that currently leases two different properties from the Port of Centralia. Heaton said the long-term plan for the company is to consolidate into one building.

“That’s what was available when they came (to the port),” Heaton said. “As space comes available in a larger building that would house everything, their wish and hope is to consolidate into one building. It’s just cheaper for them.”

The Port of Centralia Commission approved the early termination of the sublease agreement between the Port of Centralia and ZEV Technologies at 3712 Northpark Drive. Moments later it approved a lease agreement with ZEV Technologies for approximately 26,685 square feet at 2120 Northpark Drive.

Heaton said the company will terminate its other lease as a “second phase down the road.”
