Over 350 women filled the Centralia College TransAlta Commons on Tuesday, August 6 clad in “Kentucky Derby” themed outfits to support United Way of Lewis County’s vital mission of lifting families out of poverty. United Way’s Power of the Purse started in 2005 and now in it’s 14 year, brings women from all walks of life together to join forces and impact our community in big ways. Charmaine Gill was named the “Woman of Excellence” for 2019, an honor bestowed to Charmaine because of the inspiration she provides to others through her work and the examples she sets, and because of her commitment to the work of United Way of Lewis County.
