One East County Hospital District Race Is Neck and Neck, the Other Is a Blowout

Of two Lewis County Hospital District 1 races on the primary, the one for commission district 1 is by far the tightest. 

In that race, Tom Herrin is leading with 31.82 percent of the vote, or 385 total votes, with incumbent Marc Fisher in second place with 30.17 percent, or 365 total votes. 

Glenn Allen is in third place with 26.36 percent and 319 votes, and Roger W. Smith is in fourth place with 10.66 percent, or 129 votes. Twelve write-in votes were received. 

In commissioner position 5, currently held by Judy Ramsey, Wes McMahan is leading with 56.5 percent, or 713 votes, with runner-up Martin Fortin, Jr., at 17.38 percent, and 219 total votes. 



Craig Coppock is in third with 12.86, or 162 votes, and Chris Schumaker is in fourth, with 12.3 percent and 155 votes. Eleven write-in candidates were received.

The top two candidates in each race will advance to the November general election. The ballot count will be updated Wednesday afternoon.
