A 16-year-old Oakville girl was injured in a single-vehicle crash Saturday night on State Route 12 in Oakville.

According to a report by the Washington State Patrol, the girl was driving a 2007 Ford Focus westbound when she swerved to avoid hitting a deer that had entered the road.

The vehicle left the roadway and went down an embankment before coming to rest on the driver’s side.

The incident happened at 11:44 p.m. and resulted in a partial road closure for about 25 minutes, according to state patrol. Drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be a factor.

The girl — The Chronicle does not name minors involved in non-fatal crashes — was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital with undisclosed injuries.
