On Thursday, the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges unanimously adopted a resolution to approve Centralia College’s application to offer a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology: Application Management.

“On behalf of the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, it is my pleasure to extend my congratulations to you and your college for obtaining this final approval,” Joyce Hammer, director of Transfer Education, said in an approval letter to the college.

College President Robert Frost said John Martens, Patrick Allison and Connie Smejkal did an excellent job presenting the final application to the board.

He credited all of the faculty, staff, directors and deans involved in the application process, and said it was great to see the confidence the state board has in the college after they handed the approval letter only seconds after the final vote.

Frost said in an email that the reputation of existing associate and baccalaureate programs was referenced in support of the unanimous vote of the board in favor of the application.

“Today is a great day for Centralia College,” Frost said in an email.
