Students from schools in Centralia, Adna, Winlock, Toledo, Onalaska and Mossyrock visited Alta Forest Products in Morton Wednesday for a career fair designed to show students their options in the forest products industry.

According to Alta Forest Products, 48 students and their teachers attended. The event included tours and demonstrations, and pointed out that  careers in the industry were not limited to woodworking. Career opportunities highlighted included electricians, millwrights, shipping and logistics, sales, human resources and more.

“The purpose of this career day was to show the next generation of workers that there are other options besides college that are available to them and that a person can have a successful career in the wood products industry,” according to a news release from Alta Forest Products.  “Alta also used this opportunity to demonstrate what the sawmill industry, and more specifically, what Alta Forest Products, has to offer when it comes to employee benefits and working for a stable company that cares for its employees.”
