Napavine’s 'Christmas On Parade' Canceled

The Napavine Funtime Festival has canceled its Christmas On Parade, which was scheduled for Saturday, due to Napavine High School football team playing in the state 2B football championship game Saturday in Tacoma.

Because of scheduling conflicts, the parade will not be rescheduled this year.

“This is the first time in 33 years that we have had to cancel the parade and we are very sorry for the inconvenience, but with the support that the school gets from our town, it was assumed that most of the people in town would want to be either listening to the game, or going to the game, and the way the schedules work, there is not another day when we can get the parade scheduled for this year,” said Eileen Owens, who is involved with the Funtime Festival.

Napavine will play Okanogan in the 2B title game.
