An update to the Lewis County primary election results published Wednesday evening by the county auditor revealed little change compared to the initial results.

The top two vote-getters in each race advance to the general election cycle in November. Most of the races appear to be decided ahead of final certification on Aug. 20.

Kelly Smith Johnston saw her lead over Centralia Mayor Lee Coumbs for his Position 2 At-Large council seat increase slightly from the initial count published on Tuesday. She holds 874 votes to Coumbs’ 775. Former council member Ron Greenwood sits in third with 345 votes and Kurtis Engle in fourth with 100 votes.

Elizabeth Cameron leads the field competing for Council Position 1 At-Large by more than 200 votes, with 729 votes to her name. Matt Evans is in second place with 525 votes, still more than 4 percent ahead of Steven Hubbard’s 440 votes. John Ver Valen appears locked into fourth place with 318 votes.

In Winlock, former mayor Lonnie Dowell increased his lead over incumbent council member Jodie Curtis for Council Position 3. Dowell has received 112 votes to 85 for Curtis. Glen Cook sits in third with 61 votes.

The race for Pe Ell Council Position 5 is almost a dead heat. Marjorie (Midge) Church has garnered 58 votes to edge out Christopher Dodd, who has received 54 votes. Nicholas Schenck, with 18 votes, will likely finish third. The incumbent did not file for reelection to the Pe Ell Town Council.

Vader City Council incumbent Mike Parsons has taken the lead from Janet Charlton in the race for Council Position 4. Parsons has garnered 47 votes to 41 for Charlton, who led 40-37 on Tuesday night. Jayson Rayfield trails with 27 votes.

Beverly Clark maintained her lead in the race for Centralia School District Director Position 2. She has 1,331 votes, good for 47.76 percent of the total cast, to 828 submitted for John Elmore. Jennifer Hoy trails Elmore by more than 8 percent with 595 votes to her name. Incumbent Kim Ashmore chose not to file for reelection.

In the race for White Pass School District Board Position 3, Joel McMahan continues to hold a significant lead over incumbent Zora DeGrandpre. McMahan has gotten 508 of the 748 votes recorded thus far, good for 67.91 percent. DeGrandpre has received 137 votes, ahead of the 103 cast for Kenneth Willeford.

The race for Lewis County Hospital District Position 1 saw a little bit of separation, as Tom Herrin doubled his margin over incumbent Marc Fisher. Herrin has 446 votes to 415 for Fisher and 381 for Glenn Allen. Roger Smith sits in fourth with 148 votes.

Wes McMahan maintained his dominant position in the race for Hospital District Position 5, with 839 votes to account for 57.27 percent of the total. Martin Fortin, Jr., with 253 votes, leads Craig Coppock (188 votes) and Chris Schumaker (177 votes) in the race for second place. Incumbent Judy Ramsey did not file for reelection.
