Traffic Backs Up After Logging Truck Hits Chamber Way Overpass

Posted

A log truck load apparently stacked a bit too tall has hit the Chamber Way overpass in Chehalis. By 2:30 p.m. northbound traffic had already backed up four miles, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

One lane of northbound freeway traffic was closed, and one lane of Chamber Way was also closed above the mangled concrete and rebar.

Drivers are asked to take alternate routes or enter northbound I-5 north of Chamber Way.

A WSDOT bridge assessment team is traveling to Chehalis to examine the bridge to determine the severity of damage, according to Magan Reed of WSDOT.

The Chronicle will post more information as it becomes available.
