Lewis County Modifies Burn Ban to Allow Recreational Fires

Posted

As of Saturday morning, recreational fires and solid fuel grills will again be allowed in unincorporated Lewis County.

The Lewis County Community Development department and the county fire marshal determined current weather conditions allow for safe use of recreational fires and grills.

Fires must be no greater than three feet in diameter in an enclosed ring and must be attended by person at least 16 years old.

Other outdoor burning is still prohibited and open burning permits will not be granted.

Other restrictions may still apply to municipalities and land managed by the state Department of Natural Resources.
