The Lewis County Music Teachers, through the Dorothy Parker Memorial Grant, is offering assistance for qualified children to study music during the 2017-18 school year.
This grant is open to any student grades 1-12 living in Lewis County whose family qualifies as low-income status. The criteria for a recipient includes desire and commitment to study, parental/guardian support, living near a LCMTA teacher, access to an instrument and financial need.
Applications are due by June 30 for the student grant and are available by calling Barbara at 360-736-2180.
The LCMTA is affiliated with the Washington State Music Teachers Association and the Music Teachers National Association. It annually hosts a piano adjudication, two honor recitals, the Piano Play-a-Thon and a Ribbon Festival to benefit students.
