Lewis County Gets Clean Audit for 2014

Lewis County officials had their exit conference with the Washington State Auditor’s Office on Wednesday.

Commissioner Edna Fund said the county received clean audits for the three performed this year, which included accountability, financial and federal grant compliance all covering 2014.

Fund said according to the auditors this was the cleanest audit in the last five years. The auditor only noted “minor” financial statement issues.

“But it wasn’t anything of significance,” Fund said.

State auditors examined the county’s general revenues and expenditures, open public meetings, cash receipting, financial condition, budget compliance, small and attractive assets, interlocal agreements, sheriff’s office, district court, procurement for public works, internal controls, disbursements and payroll.

The audit cost nearly $70,000, Fund said.
