Joseph Enbody Selected as Public Defender for Indigent Defense Services

The Board of Lewis County Commissioners approved a contract with Joseph Enbody for public defender indigent defense services on Monday.

Enbody will represent those charged with crimes in district court. He will provide legal representation after a person's preliminary appearance.

Indigent defense is provided to individuals who cannot afford a lawyer for defense in a criminal case. If a person is found indigent, then the court must provide a public defender or other attorney to represent the individual.

Enbody was approved by the Lewis County judges. The contract was then placed before the commissioners for formal approval.
