Jim Walsh Takes Lead in Legislative District 19 Primary

After original vote counts showed Erin Frasier, D-Pe Ell, was leading Jim Walsh, R-Aberdeen, in the primary for legislative district 19, state representative position 1, vote counts told a different tale on Friday afternoon.

Walsh is now leading the primary election, with 50.29 percent of the vote in the state, while Frasier is currently the runner up, with 49.71 percent of the vote in the state.

In Lewis County Walsh is also leading the primary with a larger 66.47 percent of the vote, while Frasier is currently the runner up, with 33.53 percent of the vote.

Both will advance to the general election regardless of the results of the primary. 

During the primary election, incumbent Brian Blake, D-Longview, was challenged by two candidates who filed for election — Joel McEntire, R-Cathlamet, and David Parsons, R-Kelso. 



Blake is leading the Primary for state representative position 2, with 58.12 percent of the vote in the state and McEntire is leading as the runner up, with 21.84 percent of the vote in the state. 

Parsons is following with 20.05 percent of the vote in the state. 

In Lewis County, however, McEntire is leading the primary election with 38.82 percent of the vote, while Blake is currently a close runner up with 37.66 percent of the vote. Parsons has 23.52 percent of the vote in Lewis County.
