East Lewis County residents and businesses finally have an option to purchase high-speed internet following an announcement this week by Wave Broadband that the service is available.

Wave Broadband announced it had completed a series of upgrades to the Packwood-area infrastructure that serves Morton, Packwood, Napavine and the surrounding areas, the company said in a press release.

Customers may now purchase internet with speeds up to 250 mbps, an improvement in speed over existing DSL connections.

“Wave believes that businesses and residents here deserve the same robust internet connectivity that bigger cities enjoy,” said Gary Schrier, senior business account executive for Wave. “We’re committed to serving customers here in Packwood, Morton, Napavine and the U.S. Highway 12 corridor.”

The press release said the company is continuing to invest in infrastructure in metro and rural markets throughout the Pacific Northwest in bringing high-speed connectivity to customers.
