Herrera Beutler Seeks Submissions for Congressional Art Competition

Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, is seeking entries for the annual Congressional Art Competition, with the winning entry displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol.

The competition is open to high school students in the 3rd Congressional District, with a submission deadline of April 18. The winning artist will receive free airfare to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Washington, D.C.

Second and third place entries will be displayed in Herrera Beutler’s office. 

“Every year, students from across Southwest Washington amaze me with their outstanding pieces of artwork,” Herrera Beutler said in a release. “This unique opportunity allows students to showcase their artistic talents, and I look forward to displaying a Southwest Washington masterpiece in the United States Capitol.”



Entries must be two-dimensional, and framed pieces may be no larger than 26 inches high, 26 inches wide, 4 inches deep and 15 pounds.
