Tenino will be the location for a seven-week health and wellness program for residents 55 and over starting on Oct. 5.

The program, sponsored by the Tenino Senior Activity Association and Senior Services for South Sound, was developed by the National Council on Aging to help people stay healthy longer.

Classes will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Thursdays in the Tenino Quarry House located at 399 Park Ave. in Tenino. The class is free for Senior Nutrition participants and Tenino Senior Activity Association members. The cost is $25 for the general public.

“The goal of this program is to empower older adults to make and maintain small but impactful changes,” a press release said. “The classes will explore navigating longer lives, physical activity, sleep, healthy eating and hydration, financial fitness, medication management, advanced planning, healthy relationships, falls prevention, and community engagement.”
