Christian Science practitioner and teacher, Mary Bothwell, will deliver a presentation titled, “Experiencing Heaven Now” on Sunday, May 6, at First Church of Christ in Chehalis. The talk is intended to provide inspiration to people who may be feeling discouraged by the realities of the world around them.
In a press release, Bothwell noted, “Understanding that the kingdom of heaven, that atmosphere of unending spiritual peace indicating God’s presence now, is within each one of us (and) helps us to be in touch with our own spirituality. We realize that we can be aware of the atmosphere of God, good, wherever we are, which resolves all kinds of difficulties.”
Bothwell’s presentation will begin at 3 p.m. Her inspirations include the character of Jesus Christ, as represented in the Bible, as well as the Baker Eddy book ‘Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures’.
Bothwell previously worked in engineering and management positions related to remote sensory and robotic exploration of space at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. She left that position in order to help others and is currently a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship.
Bothwell plans to discuss “how the kingdom of heaven permeates and transforms our entire being to bring healing,” including at least one “instantaneous healing of a long-time addiction to alcohol.”
