Lewis County Public Works and the Washington State Department of Transportation will be alternating traffic through a nearly two-mile stretch of U.S. Highway 12 Friday for highway maintenance.

The work is expected to take place from 6:30 a.m. Friday until 6 p.m. Travelers on both directions the highway between milepost 93.5 and 95.1 will alternate through a single lane, following a pilot car.

Crews will be applying chip seal to the two westbound lanes of the highway, according to a news release.

Travelers should use caution in the work zone, and reduce speed.
