Historical Society to Host WWI Centennial Program
The Toledo Historical Society on Thursday, May 24, is hosting a World War I centennial program at the Greater Toledo Community Library in Toledo.
With an emphasis on Washington state's involvement, it will include a guest speaker, panels covering the causes and stages of the Great War, lists and photos of Toledo and Winlock men who served, slides, photographs, music of the era and displays of World War I artifacts and uniforms.
Those attending can visit the History Room to see all historical artifacts, photographs, books and documents donated by Toledo families.
There also will be books, booklets and postcards on sale.The proceeds will benefit the society's funding of events with historical significance and Toledo High School scholarship awards.
Visitors also can get a copy of the society’s latest newsletter, join the society or make a donation.
There is no admission charge. The Greater Toledo Community Library is located at 241 Cowlitz St.
