Mycological Society to Meet at Courthouse

The Southwest Washington Mycological Society will hold its next monthly meeting on Tuesday. Guest speaker Langdon Cook will discuss “Nature’s Secret Pantry, a Year of Mushroom Hunting, from Patch to Plate.”

Langdon is a writer, instructor and lecturer on wild foods and the outdoors. His books include “The Mushroom Hunters: On the Trail of an Underground America,” winner of the 2014 Pacific Northwest Book Award, and “Fat of the Land: Adventures of a 21st Century Forager,” which The Seattle Times called “lyrical, practical and quixotic.”

Non-members are always welcome to attend. Bring your unidentified mushrooms in for expert analysis.

Meetings start at 6 p.m. in the Agricultural Extension meeting room located in the basement of the Lewis County Courthouse (near the west entrance). Those with accessibility issues may find the east entrance more accommodating.
