Thursday, Aug. 9

Morton Loggers Jubilee Celebrates 76 Years

The 76th anniversary of the “Granddaddy of all Logging Shows,” the Morton Loggers Jubilee, comes to the East Lewis County town Aug. 9-12.

The jubilee gets under way with the coronation of the queen at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at Morton High School.

On Friday will be tours of the Hampton Mill 8 a.m.-1 p.m. and lawnmower races, with time trials at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday features the Jubilee Grand Parade at 11:30 a.m. on Main Street and the logging show at Jubilee Arena at 2 p.m.

The Uptown Street Dance in the Gas Plus parking will be run 9 p.m.-1 a.m., featuring the Harrison Street Band.

On Sunday, the logging show commences at noon.

Lawnmower race admission prices are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for children 6-12. Children 5 and under are free.
