Chehalis Accepting Applications for Lodging Tax Funds

Posted

The Chehalis Lodging Tax Advisory Committee is accepting applications for use of lodging tax funds through Sept. 10. Nonprofit organizations and governmental agencies are eligible to apply for funding by contacting the city manager’s office at 360-345-1042 ext. 203, or online at ci.chehalis.wa.us.

The committee made up of representatives of local businesses, members of organizations which qualify to receive lodging tax funds from the city, and Mayor Pro-tem Terry Harris gave out more than $300,000 to eight applicants last year. Those grants are funded by hotel-motel tax revenues and go to agencies that promote tourism and the public good.

Recipients of lodging tax funds last year included: the Chehalis Community Renaissance Team, the Lewis County Historical Museum, Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce, Chehalis-Centralia Railroad & Museum, Veterans Memorial Museum, Chehalis Community Development Department and The Chehalis Wedding Show.
