Challenger Pulls Ahead of Write-In Incumbent in Toledo City Council Race

Election numbers updated Thursday afternoon by the Lewis County Auditor’s Office show candidate Eric Duerst has pulled ahead of his write-in incumbent candidate for Toledo City Council position 1 by four votes. 

Incumbent Jim Fluckinger, who filed as a write-in candidate to retain his seat on the Toledo City Council, was leading Duerst after the first two vote counts. 

However, as of Thursday, Duerst had 51.16 percent of the vote (88 votes) to Fluckinger’s 48.84 percent (84) votes. 



The final vote count will be released on Nov. 27, and the election is scheduled to be certified the following day.
