The Centralia Stream Team is holding a meeting at 6 p.m Jan. 13 to discuss upcoming volunteer opportunities and keep people up to date on happenings regarding local streams and creeks, stated the team’s 2019 Winter Newsletter.

Some of the projects the Centralia Stream Team has been involved with in 2019 includes trash pickups and tree plantings along China Creek. The team is composed solely of volunteers and has the goal of improving the water quality of the creeks and streams in the area and improving the community as a whole, according to the newsletter.

“Promotions and personal changes have left the Stream Team slowing down in operations but we are hoping for a strong year in 2020,” stated the newsletter.

The newsletter was written by Andrew Elam with the Centralia Stormwater Department, who will now be leading the team during upcoming projects and meetings.

Anyone interested in volunteering with the Centralia Stream Team should attend the meeting, food and beverages will be provided, located at 1100 N. Tower Avenue in Centralia.
