Editor’s Best Bet: Centralia College ‘Potter in the Park’ 5K Run and Walk
Registration is now open for Centralia College’s Harry Potter-themed 5K run and walk on Saturday, Oct. 21.
Costumes are encouraged at the “Potter in the Park” event at Fort Borst Park.
“Sit under the Sorting Hat to determine your house at Hogwarts,” stated a press release from the college. “Taste jelly beans and make your own potion.”
Check-in will be held at 9 a.m. on Oct. 21 at Fort Borst Park Trials. The run and walk will begin at 10 a.m.
Pre-registration costs $25 for adults, $15 for students and $10 for kids. Children 12 and under are free. There are also family tickets available for between four and eight individuals for the price of $50.
On race day, the price of tickets will increase $5.
Runners and walkers will receive a T-shirt and a goodie bag of candy and prizes. Medals will also be awarded to the winners.
Centralia College’s fall 5k is sponsored by the college and the Associated Students of Centralia College.

Napavine High School will host an anti-bullying workshop for parents and guardians Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. in the high school library, 404 Fourth Ave. NE, Napavine.

Evergreen Playhouse Presents ‘Clue: The Musical’
Each night will be a new experience as “Clue: The Musical” continues its run after launching last week at the Evergreen Playhouse in Centralia.
The production, which features 216 different combinations of murder, is billed as fun for all ages, with the added bonus of audience participation.
Cost is $15 for adults, $12 for students and senior citizens.

Ballet Theatre Presents Moonlight Madness Showcase
The Ballet Theatre of Washington will present “The Moonlight Madness Ballet Showcase” on Saturday at 2 and 7 p.m.
The event will be held at the Liberty Theater, located in the Bethel Church at 413 N. Tower Ave. in Centralia.
Attendees will see excerpts from classic ballets as well as new works choreographed by the young company members of BTW. There will also be a bake sale, a “boo-tique,” and games. Everyone is invited to come in costumes, though scary costumes should be avoided.
Attendees will also be able to be the first to purchase tickets to BTW’s premiere of their new full length production of “The Nutcracker.”
