Author of ‘The Razor’s Edge’ to Speak About Clam Digging at Toledo Library

Posted

On Tuesday, May 9, the Toledo Community Library will be hosting author David Berger as he digs deep into the topic of razor clams. Berger, who counts himself as both a writer and a clam digger, is the author of “The Razor’s Edge: The Washington Razor Clam Phenomenon.”

The event is being sponsored by Humanities Washington. Pat Caldwell, president of Toledo’s Friends of the Library, noted that the event coincides nicely with the recent uptick in clam digging activity on Washington’s beaches, particularly at Long Beach and Twin Harbors.

“We have sponsored speakers with Humanities Washington before,” said Caldwell, who noted that turnout for those events can be hit and miss depending on the subject matter and other more slippery elements. “I just thought that it would be a topic that that a lot of people in the area might be interested in. And just with the timing and all of the things going on in Long Beach and everything, it’s really amazing.”

The presentation is free and will begin at 7 p.m. on May 9. Berger can be reached by email at davidberger@hilakers.org and additional information can be obtained by calling 360-880-7887.
