Diversified Games in Chehalis to Participate in Free Comic Book Day

Posted

Diversified Games in Chehalis will be participating in the annual Free Comic Book Day by providing comics to those who come into the store today.

Free Comic Book Day takes place on the first Saturday in May. Comic book specialty shops across the world participate.

As the only comic book store in Lewis County, Diversified Games will hand out issues of “Transformers” and “Archie,” among others.

Business owner Brian Gunther said he doesn’t aggressively advertise the day, but typically the store gets busy as 50 to 100 people utilize the opportunity to get free comics.

“It’s fun giving back to the community and getting kids in and teaching them about comics,” he said.

The store has been participating in Free Comic Book Day since its creation in 2002.

The three main purposes of the day are to thank comic book buyers for their support, introduce everyone to the joys of reading comics and to bring back former comic book readers.

Diversified Games has been open in Chehalis since 1999 and offers a variety of merchandise, including board games, card games, plastic models, children’s toys and graphic novels, among other items.

Sales will also be held throughout the day.

Diversified Games is located at 551 N. Market Blvd in Chehalis. The store is open Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 6 p.m.

More information on the store can be found on its Facebook page “Diversified Games.”
