Lewis, Thurston Counties Set Agreement on Flood Warning System

Posted

Lewis and Thurston county leaders have both signed off on an interlocal agreement that governs the two counties’ cost-sharing system under the Chehalis River Flood Warning System.

Lewis County has been designated as the fiscal agent for the warning system, which includes several river gauges and a website to display data and other pertinent information. Costs for the warning system governed by the agreement include maintenance of gauges, operational support and operating the website, among others.

Lewis County will, under the agreement, bill Thurston County on a biannual basis, with Thurston reimbursing Lewis County within 30 days that it receives the payment request. The agreement runs through Dec. 31, 2019. The system’s website is available at www.chehalisriverflood.com.
