To celebrate Mother’s Day and the spring season, the Tenino Farmers Market will offer a Mother’s Day Market 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, May 9.

For this event, the market invited local businesses and community organizations to join it in the historic downtown district and on Olympia Street.

Marketgoers will find the familiar market vendors and many new vendors, all honoring moms with flowers, farm-fresh produce, baskets, vegetable starts, bakery, jewelry, woodworking and, local artisans. Many business and organizations, such as the T90 Firefighters Association and Skookumchuck Grange, will join the event.

Free children’s’ activities will be held during the day that will include making Mom a Mother’s Day card. At the Skookumchuck Riverbottom Farm booth, market board members will be getting their hands dirty helping the first 25 children make a free potted plant for Mom.

The Tenino Farmers Market takes place 10 a.m.-3 p.m. every Saturday, June 7-Sept. 27, at Tenino Elementary School on the corner of Garfield Avenue and Highway 99.
