The deadline to turn in ballots for this year’s general election is Tuesday evening, but the Lewis County Auditor’s Office is still waiting for a large portion of votes.
“The auditor predicted 60 percent, and we’re not even at 40 percent,” said Elections Supervisor Mariann Zumbuhl about only receiving about 15,000 of the nearly 41,500 sent out. “I thought it would have been a better turnout with the state measures and all the hot races.”
Zumbuhl said today and Tuesday are the biggest return days, but is unsure if this year’s turnout will reach the predicted 60 percent.
All ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday, or turned in to the Lewis County Auditor’s Office in the county courthouse in Chehalis before 8 o’clock Tuesday night.

It seems that no matter how the rest of the State votes, the elections always go the Seattle/King county way. Just look at the last two times we tried to elect a new Governor!!
