Parasite Control Workshop Offered

WSU Northwest Regional Livestock and Dairy Extension Specialist Dr. Susan Kerr will offer a parasite control workshop for small ruminant producers at the Lewis County Courthouse Monday, Aug. 26.

The event will be 6-9 p.m. in room 003.

The program will include an overview of parasite life cycles, non-chemical control methods and effects of parasites on animal health; instruction on conducting fecal egg counts to monitor parasite loads; and optional FAMACHA certification.



Registration for the program is $10 at the door (cash or check) and can be made by contacting Kim Weiland, (360) 740-1212. An additional $12 fee (separate from the registration fee) is required for FAMACHA certification.

Workshop size is limited to 10 people on a first-come, first-registered and reserved basis.
